Justin Silva is a sophomore wrestler at Rio Hondo. Silva competes in the 125 pound division and finished second place at the Reno Tournament on Nov. 5. The Rio Hondo wrestling program has currently finshed the South West Conference as co- Champions and are currently preparing for the Regional and State Championships.

Justin Silva: Alta Loma High School
TM: Did you wrestle in high school? If so, how many years?
JS: All four years
TM: How many years of wrestling experience so you have?
JS: Since my Freshman year of high school.
TM: How did you get involved in wrestling?
JS: I missed basketball tryouts so I decided to give wrestling a try.
TM: How many year's at Rio Hondo do you have?
JS: Two years
TM: What are you doing during your time off to prepare for the Regionals?
JS: Just practice really hard for the next three weeks.
TM: How does the team feel about winning Southwest Conference Championship?
JS: They feel pretty stoked, but looking forward to Regionals and State.
TM: How hard is it to maintain weight?
JS: Not that hard. I eat whatever I want, as long as I train really hard.
TM: How has the team performed this year?
JS: Compared to last year, the team has really stepped it up.
