Lamar Odom's Misfortunes

By Eugene Stillman
On April 26, 2012

I never thought I would ever witness Lamar Odom quitting on a NBA team but the reality is it has happened. I feel bad for a guy who's a former NBA "Sixth Man of the Year" and a guy who won two NBA Championships with Los Angeles Lakers.

Odom was traded to the Dallas Mavericks in the early start of the NBA season and from there things went down hill for him. Awful performances and his sluggish ways soon plagued his image and playing ability on the court.

History sometimes repeats itself because many NBA players like Stephon Marbury, and Gilbert Arenas have fallen in this same predicament losing the fame and glory in the NBA. This may not a be surprise to many people.

The challenge for Lamar Odom is that his NBA playing days could be tarnished and with little hopes of a team signing him. Nobody knows what next for him, there's more to this story than just hard times on the court.

I couldn't imagine what it's like being a NBA player; trying balance a lifestyle with money, investments cars, houses and a thousands of opinions on how to live your life and what you should do. It's hard to see a guy of his talents, a 6'10 body frame and who was born to play basketball losing his career because of one sour incident when everybody deserve a second chance

Despite him leaving the team there could be a divorce looming somewhere in this madness with Khole Kardashin and that only makes this soap opera nasty and ugly. Many people believed that his wife could be the prime suspect in Odom misfortunes not only on the court but things behind close doors. Khole Kardashian hasn't been happy since the trade from Los Angeles to Dallas dealing with lot of loneliness while Odom is with the team on the road. One can watch these actions on their reality show.

Odom will spend the rest of the season on the inactive list and will not play again for the Dallas Mavericks or any other franchise this season. He has one year left on his contract so any team that has him on its roster is responsible for the $8.2 million he is due next season.

Truthfully, Odom has his work cut out for him and right now his basketball and life is on trial with questions marked everywhere in this saga.
