In the last issue of El Paisano, on the front page, there was a story about a protester who claimed to be promoting a more Christian lifestyle and the reactions he drew from crowds of Rio Hondo students. Reactions to this man ranged from a few students expressing an indifference to a majority of students showing contempt and even anger.
The Student Council at American River College (ARC) decided to back Proposition 8, in 9-3 vote with 3 abstentions. The resolution was introduced as FO8-01 "Proposition 8 Endorsement" by the Associated Student' Vice President, Blaze Jeppesen, 17. The resolution stated "…Whereas Martin Luther King Jr.

Wednesday morning, November 5th, 2008, the nation awoke up to the realization that it has elected a black man as President of the United States of America. It was on every channel, front page on everynewspaper, it did not even need to be spoken out loud. The feeling moving through the air was just as omnipresent as the bitterly waged campaign had been for the last two years.
It's that joyous time of year again. Summer's gone, autumn is here, and winter is almost near. That means there are plenty of holiday parties to go to. For many of us, that means dress to impress. For others, yours truly included, this can be a nightmare-especially when some of us are too broke to afford spiffy duds.
Since the dawning of time religion has been apart of societies. Some have religion thrust upon them and others have a chance to choose how they want to believe. America was founded on the basis of escaping religious prosecution. America is supposed to be the land of the free where one could practice religion.
