Those Romantic Germans a success

Rio Hondo Symphony's Those Romantic Germans was a success this past Sunday. The second of three free shows featured the guest conducting of Hector Salazar a music veteran Salazar has been the Assistant Conductor of the Chamber Orchestra of the South Bay and Carson/Dominguez Hills Symphony.

Nothing but 'Dead Space'

The animated prequel to the video game Dead Space, Dead Space: Downfall was released in Oct. after much anticipation. It builds a more prominent storyline for the upcoming game while being an interesting anime in its own right. The film begins with the acquisition of a religious monument known as the "Artifact" that, from initial contact with the home ship called Ishimura, is driving people aboard the ship insane making them fatally violent to themselves and others.

This is James Morrison!

James Morrison is a British singer who at the age of 21 became the biggest selling male solo artist of 2006. His debut album Undiscovered went to No. 1 in Britain and was in the Top 20 in America. He has appeared on national TV including NBC today, Jimmy Kimmel Live, and the Tonight Show with Jay Leno where he performed his song You Give Me Something, which was inspired by his girlfriend Gill.

Comic GRRL: The Vinyl Underground

From Vertigo Comics comes The Vinyl Underground, a British comic by Si Spencer, Simon Gane and Ryan Kelly easily described as a cross between CSI and Constantine. The most recent release was the second part of The Marriage of Heaven and Hell, which follows a cult that is responsible for a new slave trade that the Vinyl Underground is trying to stop.

Best friends doing it on film

Kevin Smith the King of slackers and geeks hits it out of the ball park with his latest film once again challenging the MPAA and our own sensibilities, at least if you have any. Originally given an NC-17 Smith was able to work the rating down to an R with little editing.

A cure for the ear

From England, The Cure has released their thirteenth studio album 4:13 Dream which consist of 13 tracks through 53 minutes. After more than 30 years in the music scene, these Englishmen have maintained the original sound of The Cure's psychedelic melodies.
