As the crowd awaits all I hear is an energetic youth screaming, pushing, jumping, moshing and here comes Mika Miko. The vibe they are introducing is eccentric, aggressive, screaming, electro, ghetto tech, funk punk with a underground mix and dance rhythm. The lead singer is singing through a telephone receiver. The enthusiasm of the crowd was exciting, and the band gave a great performance.
But then I asked myself, is this supposed to be a band that is trying to be unique or is this a sound of pure chaos and ruckus?
Hearing music with no importance and trying to contemplate a message that sounds like it is just coming across as a meaningless set of words did not have me interested. All the instruments were heard loud and clear, but the base was too overpowering and I could not understand one word the singers were singing about.
Overall the performance had me dancing chaotic, but music to me should be expressed in a way for the audience to reflect through the sound and lyrics they are sending out.
To me, Mika Miko did not do that. They can fondle the crowd in any way, but I was not moved by this music because I had no idea who they were, what they were singing, and I was not even sure the message they were trying to send out through their songs.
