Affordable, late-night eateries are not very easy to come by. Either a cheap restaurant closes too early, or a joint that is open late is just too pricy for the average college budget. For those in need of a local 24-hour restaurant that will not make you eat your meal out in the cold of the night, look no further. Ordonez Mexican Restaurant on N. Garfield Ave in the city of Montebello offers a tasty, reasonably priced menu any time of day.

College student’s spending
School gets really expensive, but that doesn't stop college students from spending money on other things. A lot of students blow money on going out, gas, clothes, shoes, food, and many things needed for everyday use. Many said they spend an average of $50 a month on food alone, and sometimes more. "A good amount of my money goes to eating fast food because I am always on the go," said Ashley Reyes.

College boy turns party boy
Joey Moncada attended Rio through 1991 and 1992 or as he better refers to it the "Golden Era" of a Rio Hondo Promoter. "Harvard on a hill," was a common phrase students would use years ago to refer to Rio Hondo. Not only did students have unique and catchy phrases but they had something we currently don't have, a college football team.Many question what a football team really has to offer to students but to Joey "turtle" Moncada, a Rio Hondo alumni, it was and continues to be the foundation of his success.

I really have a hard time understanding how anyone could support these mideast wars that get us deeper in debt and chaos. It's like all the bush people came back to life to vote. As a Rio Hondo College Alumni, I am very disturbed at the actions taken by President Martinez against the professors in question, but most specifically as it relates to Professor Colin Young. I had the good fortune to study under Professor Young and I can say without reservation that ethics and compassion top the list of his character traits. I am now attending the University of California and very sensitive to the issues surrounding racial discrimination and when I reflect on my Rio Hondo experience the only grief I experienced came at the hads of a misguided administration. When one considers the achievement s under President Martinez administration I think of a failed Police Academy, a struggling Athletic Department, embezzlement and favoritism in the hiring and appointment of staff. He would like to bow to the applause that created a beautiful campus, but all he had to do is hold on to the reins given him by years of study and effort by previous administrations. The success of the certification and degree program is a direct result of staff and their dedication to the students. I look back with found memory of my educational experience, but it had nothing and I repeat NOTHING to do with President Martinez. For the record I am Chicano and proud of my culture, but I will never be proud of the fact that Presdient Martinez is only looking to line his pockets before taking an early retirement. I say pay him in pesos and put him on the mule he rode in on...
